The PDT rule is supposed to only apply to margin accounts.. It counts your day trades whether or not you are on margin. If you're on a cash account it can be ignored. I contacted customer support about that a while back and yeah you can ignore it if you are on a cash account, since pattern day trading does NOT apply.
